old coin

Found this old coin in the gold diggings. very worn but can still read the date 1817. not sure what it is or if it has any value?

Looks to be an English shilling, silver, but not worth more than melt most likely

Shilling is a guess, no scale in pic so tricky.

If it's about the size of a modern 10 cent piece it's a shilling. Very nice find.

yep that's it about the same size as a 10c
been in the ground for a while!
