Fyi. Peel currenty in flood. Normally you can walk across here. Will shake the gold up and refill some crevices.

They certainly got a bit of rain last night on the tablelands... I was heading North to Inverell tomorrow morning but canned it due to all the rain, people are getting bogged up to the axles at the sapphire park and it's closed for several days at least. :(

Hopefully the Peel deposits some more flood gold.

It was already wet when I arrived here Friday and today from about 1000am it been hammering down but thankfully stopped now.

Will give me a chance for a few hours detecting before heading back to Newy.

So many diggings on the other side of the Peel but Nundle Guy has that locked up.

Good call Heatho, you wont get near the wash, wait till it drys out a bit.

Hopefully you get a few more bits mate. Yeah once the ground is already wet it doesn't take much more rain for the rivers to flood again.

Same up at Inverell, they reckon the mine has been closed on and off for 3 months out of the last 4, they can't mine, people are getting bogged up to their axles, doesn't sound like fun. I'm really hanging to get out of Sydney for a week though.

Hey RS, was that you in the creek high banking in the cut away of the road before the camping site. I was closer to town was where I was camped, the property before tar becomes dirt road. Before and after pics, Friday arvo to Sunday morning. 38mls of rain overnight Nundle got just a bit wet

Hey mate,

I was staying in the Caravan Park in a small cabin and only used the detector this time, but had the high banker packed ready for action if the urge rose!

Was that your massive tent on the river bank? Same property where Steve lives on top of the hill??

Cheers

RS

You can see the stream dynamics at play in the right hand photo. :) :)
Always handy to video a stream in flood like that.

Ok cool small world!

I was down the river one day panning about 1km towards Bowling Alley Pt and Steve pulled up for a chat.

30 minutes later he was kind enough to take me down near where you were camped and we spent an hour or two panning. I reckon a days shovelling there into the banker would get something worth digging for.

I would feel weird just rocking up to his house to say gday but I would stop and say hello if I seen him out and about.

Cheers

RS

Yeah he's a down to earth fella, has a bit of knowledge about him.
I did pretty well Friday only did 5 pans worth and got some good colour. Will be taking the sluice next visit for sure.
Might be there early December again.
