I was wanting info about which nugget finder evo coil was best suited to which job/conditions. I have a 12 inch round and want to add to the collection. :D

I would also like to hear peoples thoughts on this, i have just picked up the 17 X 13 and not had a chance to test it yet. I am starting to regret this and think i should have went with 15" round instead ?? Put my mind at rest

Mate I'd love to but I brought the 15" round :D
In saying that I don't think you can go wrong with evolution coils at the moment and the only debate is pro's and cons of round versus elliptical ........... think you will be stoked with it.

The 17x13 is effectively a 15 round when it comes to depth, but gives you the advantage of easier pinpointing and being able to fit into tighter places.
The EVO coils are definitely better than the Advantage line.

Some people prefer round, others elliptical, whatever floats your boat !

14x9" Evo is the most sensitive of the lot. Has slightly better ground coverage than the 12" and is better at poking between vegetation, but the 12" has a slight edge on depth.

Compared to the 12", the 15" Evo will have better depth on targets roughly 1-1.5grams and bigger. The 15" also seems to handle hot ground very nicely.

17x13" Evo is an alternative to the 15" Round, and like the 14x9" to 12" evo difference, the 17x13" offers a bit more ground coverage, a touch more sensitivity to very small gold, and easier pin-pointing on a deeper target. Depth wise, the 17x13" and 15" are pretty much neck n neck (really would come down to settings), but the 15" will start to show an advantage once target sizes exceed roughly 1 oz.

The 15" spoke is the lightest of the larger coils for those who don't mind an open web coil.

The 17x13" coil will get small gold at rediculous depths. Here's a 0.51g I picked up in a spot I've been over 20 times. I was expecting a 2-3 grammer :/

Thanks for the feedback all. I feel a little more confident with the 17 x 13 choice now. Guess the proof will be in the results when i give it a go

The main thing is just keep the coil on to get to know what it telling you, work slow and keep the coil on the ground , with the setting I have found its important to have the detector running quiet and smooth regards john :)

For what its worth, I spoke to a bloke at Tarnagulla on the week-end - he is a pretty good prospector and he gave the new 12" evo a big wrap.

After consideration I have bought a 13 x 17 to accompany the 12. Thanks for the feedback peeps. Cheers 8)

Good one mate, im pretty new with the minelabs, and the evo, s. Have the 14 x 9 and the 15, find the 14 x 9 a lot easier to pin point with, but I really havnt used the 15 much yet. Good luck!
