Id be more concerned with the batsman not wearing a protector?
Saw a bloke go out to face one ball at the end of the day, once, without a protector - "It's only one ball" he said.
Of course the inevitable happened and he copped one in the worst place. Result was a trip to hospital with a ruptured testicle and corrective surgery. It was very nearly "only one ball" for him.
He never did get back to cricket after that.
