Can someone please look into as to why the Post Notification system seems to be not working??

Thanks Guys.

John

I thought it was just my email. I get post notifications but they can be up to a day or two days later. What is your usdue?

I get too many Email notifications from PA, it would be good to have a Turn off Notifications option, and yet still be able to follow posts,... Every time I get onto my Emails for a look I have to go through the ordeal of deleting the PA ones,... But I would still like the option to receive the Private Mail Notifications by Email. However, I do follow a lot of topics though.
So, from here, the notification system is working fine still,... right the way through from when I first started following posts and up until now.

Not sure which email service you use (I use outlook) but you can organize your mail box by creating additional folders and redirect mail to those folders. Cleans up the clutter. I have all inbound emails with the subject New topic in forum: 'General Chat' sent to my prospecting australia folder and New private message on Prospecting Australia! sent to a private mail folder. Works well enough for me.

I have mine arrive in out-look as well, thanks nuggetino, will get the Mrs to show me how it's done,... or better yet, maybe she will do it for me for valentines day(just because she loves me :) ).

All mine go into a dedicated outkook file but i get post notifications sometimes days after..m bit strange also could be my soam filter due to me getting 100 + emails a day from pa

Same happens to me and it isn't just PA. I'm a member on a few other forums and it's the same story with PMs arriving a few days late

I never turned on email notifications in the first place so don't get any. There's just too much mail to add this one as well.

Sorry Guys I did not know anyone had answered, I not getting anything come through from here, That's how bad it is, I have not changed my settings, It just stopped by happening for some reason,

John

It's it possible to turn them off internally? I too send them to their own folder but would rather zero if possible.

I believe you only get notifications to topics you subscribe to. I don't subscribe to any as I was getting too many emails for my liking. You can turn notifications for PMs on or off in your profile settings under the privacy tab.

General chat comes through at 2-3 per day not pm that's off already. If mod administration could turn it off on my behalf I'm good with that too. Can post a screen shot if it helps define it.

This depends how a website is setup and configured.

Some send messages instantly while others may use what we call a crontab that activates a send message script for
example at a particular time.

Its more server end related rather than your email system.

Looks like we can't do it for you GT. As Jaros said, have a play with your settings in your profile.

I'm not sure if we are thinking on the same page but if it's regarding topic notifications? Go up top to 'topics I'm following' and you can unsubscribe each one by ticking the boxes....

Not quite. Basically if a new topic is posted I get an email. Not every one but frequently. Topics that are new and only after the email comes could I subscribe which I don't. I'll put a pic up later to sort it out possibly in a new topic. Surely it's not just me. It turns my email notification on my phone into a bloody beeper it goes off so often, and really has made my go to email account a right pita to use. Before pa had my email addy I never had any trouble.

See the following setting under Set your Subscription Options, as I believe it should allow threads you contribute to, to send you Emails for new posts.

Bathwater. I figured it out now I've had two minutes to check what is what. At some point I must have pushed the "follow forum" icon in general chat.
Obviously this will be fixed now I've hit the "unfollow forum" icon. Everything is fixed! Now everything is awesome!
Bit of a stupid button for a smart phone. .... But Mia culpa.
