Newcastle NSW ...New to this

Hi all I am 51 and new to all this I am from Newcastle NSW. I got a detector for my birthday and took it along the beach. I found $3.22. lol and lots of old junk. It was fun but and got me off the lounge for a few hours, If any one has any ideas to keep me keen in the local area, I would love to work out the best local places to go. Thanks Chris

Welcome to the forum Chris. Good to see you're putting that birthday gift to good use. The best idea i can give you to keep yourself keen, is to get involved with the chat on the forum as this is the best way to substantially increase your knowledge.

Being involved will also gain you much local knowledge and some great friends to share this hobby. Hope your finds increase and I'm sure some real treasures are waiting just under the sands. Best of luck out there mate.
