Hi All

My name is Daniel and my partner Emily recently bought the XP ORX. We have had some small successes on Newcastle beach and some on the central coast beaches. We are mainly into relic hunting at the moment until we have the time to go to the gold fields probably Mudgee way. Aiming to go there in November. Currently scouting out parks around the area. Seems to be a lot of rain about at the moment and i don't think this detector can get wet so gotta wait it out. (anyone do detecting with a plastic bag over their detector or something)?

Catch you all on the fields

Cheers

Welcome to the forum Dan & Em
Nundle Stuart Town Ophir would all be some places to research for gold prospecting close to the Hunter and take a look at Rathmines (near Toronto) for relic hunting around the WW11 flying boat base ..
:perfect:

Hey Everyone

Wally69 - Thanks for the suggestion. I was just looking online if its the coil that cant get wet or the computer component. Still I like your way of thinking although it did cross my mind earlier lol

Nucopia - Nice thanx for the info. I bought Doug Stones book on relic and gold hunting in australia as well as some maps of the hargraves and ophir area. Looking at going out that way possibly mid November. Went to nundle last month to have a go but was fairly inexperienced and had my son Ethan with me and Em. I do not advise young kids while trying to fossick lol im sure you all know this already. Its near impossible. Rathmines on the coast around the park there you reckon?

Jaros - Thankyou

Out of interest anyone done any detecting near Toowoomba? Will be heading that way sometime. I have a fossickers license as well but i think thats just for the heart of NSW

Cheers

A mate took me out for a bit of a drive this morning and we went past what was left of Newcastle Beach and those southward, Bar Beach, Dixon Park and Merewether. All heavily stripped of sand. Could be worth a look.
