Newbie to gemstones and gold detecting

Hi my name is William,I am 67 years old and waiting on a hip replacement ,I dream alot and thats what keeps me going,along with reading about what you guys do and find meanwhile I'll just be patient and learn what I can regards William.

I everyone I'm new to the forum and having a few problems navigating myself around it. I may be in the incorrect area but no doubt someone will get me sorted out. I surfed into this site when I Goggled "Review on Aldi Mineral Detector" And now I'm one of "YOU!" Anyway the reason that I'm on here is to let your members know that on Ebay there are Aldi Detectors for sale but they are marked up at over double the original purchase price from Aldi. The are even shown in a picture of the original carton with the Aldi product number on the side. BUYER BEWARE! I have an American Bounty Hunter Quick Draw II complete with canvas bag and Bounty Hunter pinpointer,I also have another Chinese unit from Ebay $115:00 including 1. Headphones2. Pinpointer 3. Postage Then also the Aldi unit They all behave in different ways but by working over an area with all of them I'm totally positive that I have cleaned it out. As I get further into this pastime I feel that I am becoming addicted and can see myself buying a real detector. In the mean time I'm enjoying my new pastime. I'm 67 yrs retired & located at Arana Hills on the nth side of Brisbane. P/S. The pinpointer That I purchased with the $115 detector -- It is a "TX-2002" Metal Detector "Dual-Use Pinpointer" It is black with yellow writting ---the body is rectangler in shape. On Ebay they can be brought for as low as around $30:00 TO $40:00 INCLUDING cost of post In my opinion they are EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY.[Much better than the Bounty Hunter] You have both light and sound to alert you and the thing only works when you press the button. sEEYA!wES!

Welcome to the forum William. Sorry to hear that the hips are not what they use to be, but having a positive attitude and a dream to follow, will certainly lift the spirits while waiting for that replacement. Hope the forum threads provide you with all the info needed to get you involved with the hobby.

Welcome to the forum Wes. Sounds like the metal detecting bug has struck you hard, and you're well under way in the detecting apprenticeship. Glad you found the forum in your search and I'm sure you will gain a lot of inspirational information from within the threads.
