Morning folks, AB here from eastern side of Vic.

I'm heavily involved in the 4wd scene and end up in a lot of remote places in OZ especially the high country so have been getting into prospecting a bit over the last 6 months annnnnd now I have the bug which is stupid as I really don't need another hobby to throw thousands of dollars at but I'm obsessed now so here we go!

Having an issue with an old SD2100 but I'll post it in another section, cheers!

Welcome AB.
Beautiful there in the High Country.
Just be careful where you prospect, a lot of it is National Parks and rivers and creeks that are on the exempt list, and banned to prospecting.
Do your research before you prospect around there. A lot of rivers and creeks that are tributaries of the Ovens, Goulburn and Murray Rivers are no-go waterways.

Here's the list of waterways that you can't prospect on, to help you keep it legal.

Cheers Megsy, like our 4WD forum we always follow the rules and lead by example.

We always get a bad wrap and pigeon holed as being hooligans because our 4wds look quite rednecky due to the mods but little do the dogoooders know we actually clean up areas and fix up huts, etc and our cars do very little damage to the tracks.

Need to keep the Vic High Country open for our kiddies and theyre kiddies mate, less ammo the better!

Yes, there are a lot of YouTube videos of 4WD trips that are the reason 4WD enthusiasts have a bad rep. They're not doing anyone any favours when they are very definitely trashing tracks in them for all to see.
