Hey guys!

So I'm tom, I'm 25 years young and just started to get into the fossicking hobby over the last 6 months! Been looking over the forum since I started so figured it was about time I created a account and contributed lol

Unfortunately I'm living in Adelaide, so finding places to go can be tad difficult, but never the less I have found a couple of spots and found that colour! Maybe a gram, probably less after about 10-15 outings! I'm mainly into panning but I did build a sluice/high banker with a 6200 LPH electric pump, which unfortunate fell apart as I used mostly wood for the frame, though I'm sure I will rebuild it shortly!

I have just started to get into gems as well, but haven't found anything great yet, I do believe I have found some tiny rubies where I pan but not to sure just yet!

Anyways happy hunting!

Tom

Welcome Tom,

Hope you do well. The pickings are a bit slim in SA and I am still looking for areas also but end up in the golden triangle. it's right next door :D

Wecome to the forum Tom.
I'm from Adelaide too, it helps to be a member of the goldfields club of SA for tips and access to private property as well if your interested. Club details are in the 'clubs and groups' section under the GMCASA post.
The little rubies you find are always a good sign your about to find gold. It would be nice to find larger rubies, I dont think these are of much value due to their small size, but i still keep them none the less.
I got a sheetmetal manufacturer at edwardstown to bend the 1.5 metre sheet for my sluice based on Wally's highbanker dimensions, got a good cash price.

Happy panning

Thanks Jaros!

Yeah a bloke I met yesterday said someone out that way will bend it for me, I really need to get into gear and get one done, spent maybe 10 hours panning yesterday in the hills, would of been a lot more beneficial with a sluice haha.

And yeah I've been thinking of joining one of the clubs, sounds good as I do enjoy company when going for the yellow!.

hey diggertom,

I'm in mt Gambier down south and the best I can do is drive for 2.5 hours to Ararat. Your in a lot better position than I am. The Limestone Coast is as barren as they come.

Best of luck out there

Cheers
