New to prospecting

So happy to be here. Hubby and I have been interested in this for a while and are about to purchase our first GPX6000. Yes a big investment!
Im hoping to find gold obviously, but more than that, Im looking to make friends in a community of like minded people.

Welcome to the forum. Starting with the 6000

Wow. You are giving yourself a great chance of finding gold.
My first detector was a ww2 mine detector that I purchased in the 60s I was 15 and paid 10 shillings for the machine.
A bit like this one. It was powered by a 67.5 volt battery, a 45 volt, a 30 volt and a huge 1.5 volt telephone battery.

Welcome and great choice of detector
The most important advice would be to read your states laws about detecting. Make sure you know where you can legally go.
