New to prospecting

Hi Fellow prospectors, myself and my partner are new to prospecting. We are currently living in Darwin and are keen to get into the search for gold. We have heard of the Pine Creek aerea which we are heading down to have a look around (probably 20 yrs to late). Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
