Hi all I have recently become interested in fossicking due to a massive life change due to illness any information about fossicking in south australia gems, fossils, meteorites would be great. I would love to find I a nice gem to make a necklace for my wife. I would possibly like to join a club in the near future. I am based in Adelaide eastern foothills but I have regularly been camping and off road driving up north. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to PA Durds. I/we wish you luck and skill in finding that nice gem for your wife, to overcoming/managing your illness and to many future finds! You will find that many on this site are also aged, yet collectively, we share prospecting experience and adventure, with many fun meetings around camp fires and many tall tales being told.

Welcome Durds
All the best with your health and finding that gem. Sounds like you have some fun times ahead.
I'm not really in to gems though as a boy I use to collect them. I'm hooked on gold detecting at the moment. So can't really help you with the gem side of things. I'm sure there's plenty of members who can. You are doing the right thing by putting yourself out there. When I first started detecting I didn't know anyone with similar interests but now have a good collection of PA gold detecting buddies. It's so good to share your passion with like minded people, and PA is a great place to find them. Cheers Dignit :)
