Gday, I'm new to the world of gold prospecting and would like to get active in it. I live in central north tas so going east or west is fine by me as long as I can get a chance at finding some gold. Can some body give me a hint where I can start,it would be awesome if there was a person out there that needs a prospecting companion. I sure do. I have a gold pan and kit as well as a detector. Thanks.

G'day mate, I think the PMAT is having a meet up at Ron Gregory's mining lease at Back Creek in the next few months. I'm in Beaconsfield so there's heaps of gold round here but it's all a km underground. Got a few spots round here that have given up a bit of small gold but the northeast and northwest are probably a better option if you don't mind a bit of bushbashing. What type of detector have you got?
