Hi, I'm Mike and I'm based on Copper Coast of S.A. I've been detecting since the '80's on and off but didn't get completely addicted until I got the X-Terra 705 when it came out. Now using a Nox and one of those compulsive 'I'm not busy for the next 30 minutes, so why not go detecting' kind of guys.

Well, saw one of my bucket list coins come up this morning when my dad unearthed a cartwheel penny at a spot I took him too. Learned my lesson there, never reveal your spots to anyone until you've been right over them.
What I'm aiming for this year are some nice older coins like a bullhead george III, cartwheel penny, any gold coin, aussie crown, english crown or half-crown, a fourpence.
My best coin finds would include 3 George III halfpennies, 2 1806 and a 1799 halfpenny found last year in NSW. 1840 sixpence, 1826 penny, 1834 shilling, 1880 gothic florin, 1834 threepence, 1888 Jubilee shilling, 1827 farthing.
The other stuff would be 5 cricket belt buckles, S.A. dog rego tags including 2 1885 ones, couple gold rings and the usual Aussie military badges. Probably forgetting stuff I've packed away over the years.

I hit the beach at North Beach a couple months ago after the council moved some sand from in front of the shop. Picked up about 30 pre-decimals including 5-6 florins. Mostly 1950-60's.
I don't do a lot of beach detecting down in S.A. but every now and then I head down for a look. I never find much usually, just a few dollars.
