Hi guys, just came across this forum, am a total newbie to prospecting but moved to Leonora for work and have decided that not prospecting whilst living in the goldfields would be like going to Ireland an not trying guinness.

Don't have a detector at the moment, am considering the 2300 on advice from long time prospectors but will have to wait till i am sure its for me, hoping to gain some knowledge from here and maybe find some gold one day.

cheers

Welcome to PA ozzyjock.

Your obviously in the right area for a start and there's plenty to read here on your weapon of choice. As for "is it for you" time will tell. Maybe look at hiring a machine? For me, I don't really enjoy using other peoples stuff. Each to their own I guess. What I can say is that it is highly addictive for a number of reasons. I thoroughly enjoy everything from the history, researching areas and pinging a piece and the fact prospecting has giving me an excuse to explore areas I previously would have passed through.

Welcome ozzyjock. You would be silly if you didn't give it a go whilst being out there. Good luck even if you don't find anything.
Cheers Jaros :p

I'd recommend the 2300 to anyone with little detecting knowledge if you want gold. If you want relics and coin mabey something like a garret AT pro.

Welcome to the forum jock

G'day and welcome aboard Ozzyjock, as a suggestion I feel that if you follow the thread ... ( Members Meet-ups >>> PA trip from East Coast to WA in 2016) ... you might get some very good tips about Leonora.

Cheers Peter.
