Hello to everyone. Although new to this site I have been metal detecting since the early 70s but I only had a cheap Tandy detector that cost me $25. I Hello to everyone. These days I have a Minelab GTX 5000. It is a very good machine but I have found it a bit heavy lately, so I bought a new Minelab GoFind60 which is very easy to use.
Now that I am nearing retirement I hope to find other detectorists that live near to me for day trips or longer. I am interested in relic and coin hunting, on historical sites and beaches as well as gold nugget detecting and also panning and sluicing.

Yep, Hi Mick,

Two Eldorado's in Goulburn now. I'm in Goulburn too, and am more an alluvial gold specialist, although I have got into detecting over the last year.

Welcome to the forum Mick... was that a build it yourself tandy model.... I had one of the build it ones around 1976-77.... was a soldering job that ended up being redone by a propper lecky for me lol
