Although new to this site I have been metal detecting since the early 70s but I only had a cheap Tandy detector that cost me $25. I still have it and it still works
These days I have a Minelab GTX 5000. It is a very good machine but I have found it a bit heavy lately, so I bought a new Minelab GoFind60 which is very easy to use.
Now that I am nearing retirement I hope to find other detectorists that live near to me for day trips or longer. I am interested in relic and coin hunting, on historical sites and beaches as well as gold nugget detecting and also panning and sluicing.
