A couple of weeks ago we lost our 14 year old Golden retriever Sammy to a stroke. The whole family was devastated :( . Last night i came across a puppies for sale add on the net and thought "why not". This is our new member of the family Buddy :D . He is a 7 week old Great Dane cross Bull Mastiff, i think he is great and the missus and kids love him to bits. im looking forward to him getting alittle older and getting him out in the bush camping where he can run around chasing a frisbee with the kids while i wander off detector in hand.

Paul, with that lineage, it will be a BIG dog!

Thats what i was going for. the sooner he grows into his long legs the better, he is sooo clumsy. i was watching a few youtube videos of the great dane and the bull mastiff and even fully grown and 60kg they are a dog that comes bouncy around the corner and wanting a cuddle like he thinks he is a jack russell lol should be interesting

yep.. when he jumps on somebody for a cuddle they will be very scared... 8) I think he may like salesmen and avon ladys a lot.. The advert said that the dog was free and eats anything and loves children as well....But he will be great for carting your stuff down to the creek.. Bugger .. I am fairly sure he will sleep anyplace he likes..

Thats a good looking dog aussietreasuredigger.

Fully grown he was a 67kg barrel of laughs, he was walked twice a day every day and never ate a tin of dog food in his life.

Life expectancy is 8 to10 yo he lived to 12

i think the advert would have been correct if it said that. he was shy and withdrawn for the first half of today. the last 4 hours have consisted of me following him around stopping him from eating my lounge, door and even a 2" stainless steel pipe that was on the deck. haha

12 years is a good innings for such a big dog.
