Hi all,

I'm relatively new to the prospecting game and learn't plenty for various threads on this forum on what to look for when prospecting.
Over the weekend I was able to find the time cut short by the rain to drive and walk around areas within where I usually detect and I have found a few locations of interest ranging from about 2km to 7km away from the main areas of mining activity. I will attach some pictures below of various rocks found in the location and it would be greatly appreciated if some advice could be given on potential for gold detecting these areas.

Location 1: Quartz and I think ironstone, this location is on top of a hill with outcropping rocks about 3 km away from a main area of diggings.

Location 2: Quartz and Ironstone 2km away from a main area of diggings half way up a hill.

Location 3: Quartz and ironstone about 5 km away in the bush from the closest track and about 5 km away from diggings. Found a interesting rock with I think ironstone and a layer of quartz through it.

Looks promising summit!
No doubt more knowledgeable members will chime in shortly. What are you swinging matey?

Makro Gold Racer, the bigger 15.5 X 13 inch search coil is on its way which will give me more depth and coverage as the stock coil is more suited for small gold on and around mullock heaps.

Got to agree with Tim ground looks good. Worth having a look once you've got the new coil. If you don't find anything and your still not satisfied might be worth hiring a Minelab either SDC or GPX. Take home some sample rocks, crush and pan them.

The only way to know for sure is to detect it.
Myself and probably a few others on the forum would be very keen to know how the new coil performs, you'd be doing a big favour by following up on this thread if you do detect it and let us know how the coil handled the ground good or bad.

Good luck with it and hopefully you'll have great success there.

RM gave good advice . Crush it up n pan . If u get colour go back and get some more . When u get new coil give that a go in the area

I will definitely follow up on how the coil performs.

I don't trust my panning technique. :|

Bring home some rock samples crush and find someone to help you pan them off. I'm sure if you asked a member to meet up and learn the panning technique you'd find a person willing to help. You've got nothing to lose and heaps to gain be it gold in a friendship or the real deal.
