New from SA

[nuggetino]

G'day fellow prospectors. Thought I'd drop in here for a quick introduction before I get to posting the forums. I'm another relative newbie to prospecting. I'm 28, live in south oz and have been detecting for about 9 months since I found a nice used gpx4500. Have found a couple nuggets to keep a grin on my face every time I head out but I'm itching to learn all I can about where and what to look for when I'm on the hunt for that elusive nugget and perhaps meet up and learn from some experienced prospectors along the way. I will take a year off work in 2014 and try my luck at full time prospecting for about 6 months of that time in the hope to find some virgin gold bearing ground to swing my detector over or at least have fun searching.

Welcome mate, I'm in SA too, love hopping around the goldfields with various detectors, not fussed on what I find, so long as it is interesting! Might see you around the traps.

Welcome to the forum nuggetino. If you put the time in the 4500 will serve you extremely well as they miss very few nuggets. Hope the forum helps with info on the various gold fields and also gives you a better understanding of all things prospecting.

Best of luck out there in the paddock....especially when you take that time off for the full time hunt.
