Welcome Shane

Congratulations - You have worked out two of the golden rules for successful prospecting

1. Gold is a rare metal
2. Research and knowledge increases you chances

Lots of knowledge trapped in the forum pages, suggest you research your chosen form of prospecting (ie. Get to know your kit) and focus on deeply understanding your nearest goldfield (ie. Geography, history, type of gold found, physical indicators, others experiences captured in photos or YouTube videos). Once you have mastered one goldfield, applying your knowledge to others will take away the need for luck.
