Yesterday we found a coin that was in a park and was so faded we couldn't make it out, But I spent the last
Couple hours marking down all markings I could see under a magnifying glass and then searching for a coin with exact same matches.. It turned out to be a 1886 Brittish Half Penny..
COOL find for me and my partner, Just a shame this coing has had a fight with a lawn mower :(
The Buzz of finding a old coin then doing the research on what it is , is awesome

the fight appears to have gone several rounds before the coin lost to a TKO and yes old coins rock.

Yeh mate it took a bashing lol
I love old coins and old jewellery lol

Good one ! My oldest is an 1888 Penny found in the local school yard. Pretty cruddy & tarnished though. Makes you wonder how they got there !!!

Congratulations on improving your oldest coin date.

At least it is still in one piece with out jagged edges! Lawnmowers always seem to win don't they. How is the other side of the coin?
