My oldest coin 1857 half penny

I found this in a creek it is a 1857 British half penny it was in a crevice and been there for a very long time it is very worn but the date is still readable .
This is now my oldest coin I have found my previous oldest coin is a 1898 florin . I love old coins .

Wow, that's pretty corroded, lucky you can read the date. Coins are always great to find, especially in a historical context.

I know that feeling mate.. Our oldest coin was a 1866 Brittish Half penny also, the coin was badly corroded but the date was the only best part of it.. I love old coins, hopefully find older soon
