My first coins with the Aldi detector

Hi guys,

Have spent the last week digging up pull tabs, bottle tops and aluminium cans (or bits of), but finally I've found a spot that yields all of those things, plus some coins!

I do not really know what I am doing yet but have enjoyed my morning in the sun looking around.

Can anyone tell me what I should do to clean the halfpenny? The back is not even readable because there is so much green stuff stuck to the back of it!

Love the penny, personally I would leave that one as is, but the half penny might be too far gone to be worthwhile. You can clean it if you want, but it will leave a lot of pitting on the coin surface once the all the chunky bits of oxidation are removed.
