Thought I'd better say g'day as a new PA member. I've been ferreting around creeks on the Ovens goldfield for the past two years so, not quite a newbie. Living in NE Vic I've no shortage of creeks n stuff to prospect. Guess I'm keeping a family tradition alive as my great-great grandfathers were prospectors/miners in Bendigo and Creswick in the early days and my great grandfather found a nugget big enough to buy a house outright. After I mow the lawn (yuck) I'll be off to a new spot that showed some good colour and looks like it hasn't been touched for a very, very long time...
