Moonlight Heads

OK So i've heard of this place down the coast(past apollo bay) in vic where semi precious stones are able to be found on the beach, my grandfather used to go down there alot and he had a box of the good ones, all tumbled by the sea. Some agates i think and some amethyst.

Has anyone been down there in recent memory? originally you had to climb a ladder to get down but i think there is a set of stairs down to the nearby beach now.

Any info?

I motorcycle camped in a storm on the cliff top at Moonlight heads about 42 years ago. Still remember that bitch of a night. Next day I climbed down an old wooden hanging ladder looking for what my dad called "moon agates", and brought him back a few samples. Don't know where they are now though. Would love to see some pics of the place to bring back old memories.
