this photo shows two crocs feeding on a full size cow. The head of the cow is too the left end and is obscured or in the mouth of one of the crocs. Photo was taken from helicopter on cape York.

If it is a big croc it'll be a him not a her. females don't tend to get much bigger than 3 meters.

Nearly every photo is using tricky perspectives , the biggest measure croc is lolong 6.17 mtrs , theres claims of a 7 plus mtr croc in captivity in india but theres no hard evidence . Even the black and white photo is using perspective , almost half the pics on google seem to be misleading or bogas .

You are right mate, I am getting my "lizards" mixed up, been catching too many Flathead lately. :D

Agree, the biggest tall stories I've ever heard are croc stories.
I spent nearly 10 years as barra guide in the waters of FNQ and the top end, arhnem land.
Had some excited clients tell me they saw a 25 footer up this creek, they took me to show me, and it was a big croc, about 5m and a bit long, probably close to 17-18 feet, but not 25!
Even the "sweetheart story" is dubious. I reckon that the real sweetheart is alive and well, in captivity at green island in Cairns. Came from the same lagoon as the they claim to be sweetheart. But if you know the story, sweetheart had thing for outboard motors, and used to try and eat them....while they were running! Cassius(the one on green island) is missing parts of his lower jaw, and has lots of head scars. The one they call sweetheart, in the museam in Darwin, barely has a scratch on him.
I'll post some pics of crocs one day, I used to do shows in tourist parks in Qld during the off season as a fishing guide, my favorite one I worked with was jack the ripper at kuranda, he got his name because he killed every other croc we put in with him, mostly girls.

The 'Story' behind Sweetheart was told to me when I was in Darwin, And Dad said BS.... So Dad and I went and had a look...Not so BS after all.. Man that's one big Croc.. And yes She loved Outboards.. :Y: Bet ya she Scared S$%# out of the Fishermen up there for awhile.. ]:D

LW...

I saw once on TV, they have a few in remote areas, a type of croc that gets huge also. I've never seen any size croc yet in the wild.

Yep plenty of crocs in the far north, this is their natural habitat after all.
Most likely that pic is a mating pair, males dont take to rivals in their stretch of river too well.
