Gday lady's and gents. A mate of mine out near wamuran (north of brisbane) has a creek running through his property that is full of pyrite and alot of quartz. Is it worth my while to go and attack the creek in search of some yellow? I can't find much online about gold being found in the area which has me thinking twice about it.

Regards Dave

Id be there with my pans, pick and sieves ASAP! You never know until you test it properly. The best finds these days are from areas people HAVEN'T realised are special yet.

Cheers guys, that has pretty much been my thoughts as well. Might be heading that was on Sunday so will have a bit of a poke around. Thanks again lads

G'day Buck

Try and trace the pyrite back up stream and map out its potential source area. Take some samples of the pyrite and get it assayed for gold, copper, lead, silver, zinc, antimony, arsenic and a range of others the assayer may suggest. If the results show anomalies of interest then I suggest you see if the area is under licence and if not look to peg the region. Free pyrite in streams is very rare and indicates new erosion of a potential metal deposit.
