I would have kept my mouth shut if i was him , what a gift stumbling onto that . Great story but didn't bring joy to my soul.
He said he still rather play with his cows than prospect , seriously getting 5k to 20k in nuggets a day and still prefer moocows .
Worse thing is the CSIRO and the mining company are prospecting it and i bet it wont be cattle country for to much longer.
I wonder if its tax dollars that the CSIRO are using to do the research ?

A fair amount of that area is now under mining lease, & there are at least 2 gold projects under development/ feasibility studies.
As I understand it, the CSIRO are working on improving the hard rock gold processing, for all miners. The last snippet I seen on one of the proposals was that the gold tended to be tied up in iron stone. As those who have done it even on a small scale would know, this is intensive & expensive crushing & separation.
Also, this spot is in the heart of the Pilbara, & you need to be made out of ceramic tiles to survive out there layful: ickshovel: :goldnugget: :skull:
