2 grand well spent.

Is it normal to get a bit stoked every time, even when your digging crap?

Some people like digging relics and odd looking stuff and there is nothing wrong with that, its fun and every target you learn something new about your detector etc. It would be nice to find enough booty to pay for your machine, but that seems to put to much pressure on your self and i don't think that leads to successful detecting. Go out have fun and improve your technique and good finds will start flowing from there. :)

I got know doubt about it Morgan82, it wont be long and you will post a picture of a good find. Look you already have a vintage 1970's ring pull, now there hard to find ;) . The boy,s must of been shooting bunnies and drinking beer where you were detecting.. :)

Looks that way. Was interesting to see the two bigger calibre projectiles. They must be old because anyone firing that size in that area any time in the last 30years would have upset a few townies.

Morgan, was that your first hunt in the field?

I think that's right every time you dig a target you learn about your machine. I come home every time with a pocket full like Morgan82.
haven't found a bit of colour in the last 5 outings. Is that common or am I just not doing it right.
Frustrating but fun finding all sorts of things. I find an old musket ball at 300mm and I think to myself I just haven't walked over that nugget yet and if I do I will hear it and dig it.
That's what I tell myself !!! Does this happen to anyone else?? Any patterns or Murphy's law out there to make me feel better LOL?
spent the long weekend in Avoca and Stuarts Mill and it was a bit hot (35 degrees each day) to dig too many holes. The frothys got a nudge instead. 8)

Joe, only my second time out.

I'm trying to use every bit of junk as a learning curve.
I read somewhere else on this site that nothing beats coil time. Sounds like they are right.
Hang in there mate if its finding bullets you're doing something right. Learning or bonding with the machine takes time of course there are some lucky buggers out there and find something valuable on their first dig
