John Deere Medalian/ tokens

was wondering if anyone had any info / knowledge about old John Deere medals / tokens.
I had a bit of a swing at an old school that is for sale and found a token which after a little bit of a clean, i found has the
John Deere insignia on it. I have got it soaking in some olive oil at the moment ? so i will upload a picture when its cleaned up.
It seems to be made of steel as it was very corroded and magnetic ?
