Jim is my name, now located in the Vic Central Goldfields (near Bendigo), made redundant at 59 and 10 months.
New to the forum, not new to prospecting. Been at it since the 1970s, mainly dredging in those days. I have progressed through the early VLFs and now run a GPX 5000. I do not have magic 5000 settings and tend to keep around the FPs for the various conditions and change coils and settings to suit the ground. Mainly play with the RX and stabiliser - that's my best advice.
Now that I have the extra time, I have been doing some research and came across this forum - job well done moderators/owners.
Best laugh - recently looked at my old Dredging Search Licence for $20 for a 4" dredge from 1980 - probably be shot now!!
Anyway, that's me.
