Gday all.

I built this Jaw Crusher over summer as its hotter than the sun in the gold fields WA. I got the design idea from Youtube.

I already have a small Impact Mill which turns rocks into dust but wanted something to get rocks down to inch size or smaller to make it a bit easier on the impact mill.

The jaw crusher is pretty solid and it ended up bigger than i planned.
Crusher is 250mm by 150mm opening
shaft is 32mm 40mm , ( 8 mm throw )
13hp motor 6;1 reduction motor runs about 300 R per minute
Jaws are 8 mm plate with rio bar welded on ( might upgarde to some Bis 400 steel plate in the future ).

Am currently testing crushing ore but is not working like a see others working on Youtube.

Some rocks will crush others will just sit in in the crusher and basically block it up and getting them out is hard.

Having never built on before was wondering what others thoughts are on :-

Is the throw to small ?
Should i reduce or increase opening size?
Any other thoughts on why rocks are getting stuck /not crushing ?

Happy prospecting Mick
