Won't be long though until it actually does happen, just like new car models I'm sure ML are busy developing the new "pen up the golfields again" detector to supercede the 7000. I give it a couple of years.
 
Its becoming like shimano fishing gear , a new catalogue every year, same product, different colour and and housing.
sounds like the whites rumour.love the easter comment! Lol.
 
Yes I think there could be another detector on the way,put that "2300 IN A DECENT BOX" and make it user friendly.
There is quite a few things to fix.
The earphone set up better.
Better speaker,so you can hear it.
Stands up when you put it down
Lithium batteries making it lighter
Go back to something like GPX set up.
They will fix up all those faults,and there you have it,a new detector.
It is like a coil a stick and brick.

The 2300 is simple to operate,but is uncomfortable to use,and it finds gold,
It was designed as a mine detector.

An SDC with coil swap options and I'd probably get rid of the 4500. I like not having a harness and cables all over the place.
 
Yeah I agree nuggetino - for every fault the SDC has I'm sure someone else could name one with a GPX. No inbuilt speaker at all, heavy battery (much more than 4 x C cells), leads/harness etc.
I doubt a perfect, one type suits all detector will ever be built.

Great idea Nenad though it should also incorporate tuchel connectors and a housing to insert my Neumann mastering console eq's into so I can dial in my own eq settings, the Avalon eq would be way too heavy. :(
 
Perhaps an updated version of the SDC? Completely new model with improved performance mounted in a Eureka style housing?

I am not certain the GPZ 7000 would be replaced so soon? As Minelab still produces GPX 4500 & 5000 and the new after market coils bring the performance of GPXs close to the 7000 from what i have heard.

As per usual a LARGE Nugget will be found just prior to easter, hope its me that finds it! ;)

sdc in eureka style housing, and at the same price as current sdc, s? Or a bit more affordable?
 
Ah yes forgot the problem with the batteries,that has to fixed too.
Any thing else ?

Easter, Christmas big ultra deep awesome never before so deep nuggets my mind is blown, 40 50 80 100 % deeper yada yada yada zzzzzzzzzzzz . Gold prospecting rumours, gotta love em huh!?
