Hi Nugget and everyone else, we hope this is the way to introduce ourselves. Can' find another way.
We are a retired couple from the northern beaches of Sydney. Our passion is fossicking, finding interesting rocks or almost anything especially gold. We bought a metal detector, Minelab GP Extreme in 2003 and went to Ophir for a weekend with a friend. Found nothing. Then in about May 2003 went with the friend to Pentland in Northern Queensland and found a few nice nuggets on his relatives property. We also spent a few days at Clermont. Did not find anything. We did some fossicking on the Anakie saphire fields in QLD on that trip and found a few.
Geoff did a morning of gold panning at Bingara at a private property and found a few grains.
We are currently in Western Australia on the goldfields, at Leonora doing a bit of detecting. Have not found any of the yellow metal yet! That not the full story but must go now.

Hi G and P, I hope you have some luck around Leonora. I thought it might be a bit hot over there at the moment. We are retired also and had 3 months away from May, found a bit around Kanowna, also Sandstone, then western Queensland. We had a great trip and are planning for next year with friends.
