My husband and I recently sold up everything to live our dream of travelling around Oz on motorbikes (trikes). Both of us have ill health so doing his while we still can.

Never prospected before so absolutely nothing about it. Hoping this forum will be a wealth of info. Want to buy a metal/gold detector that is lightweight and can fold up so fits into trike. Again no idea what to get so hopefully some members will steer me in right direction.

My dream other than riding around the country is to find some treasure (don't we all) but more importantly have fun looking, and catching Barra as mad keen fisher woman

Currently in NSW near Wagga area but will be moving on in a week or two to who knows where.

ahhh living the dream good on yas as for metal detectors for the un experienced that fold up I would say sdc 2300 that what was recommended to me with no experience , I still haven't got one yet but I dream of one every day(approx. $3800) , there is a absolute wealth of info already on here just use the search function up the top left of your screen . good luck and welcome

Thanks. Husband is towing a teardrop (similar) camper. It's a soft option but who cares. Got sick of setting up tent every night. Will post pic when figure out how ??

Welcome aboard guys and good onya's for getting out there and living your dream. Yep, I'd agree aussiefarmer. The Minelab SDC 2300 would be ideal for you. Folds up nice and small but it is deadly on the small gold. Nicknamed the dustbuster because they just seem to suck up the gold. (You actually do still need to dig it out though.)
