Hi everyone,
I have been looking and watching this forum for a while now since I got the bug to do a bit of prospecting and to get the kids out and about and do a bit of camping. I live on the FSC of NSW. I am in the middle of building myself a high banker utilising a few of the ideas circulated on a few of the topics on this forum. I hope no-one minds.... I am hoping to have it finished in a few weeks, work permitting, and I am looking to test it out at O'allen, as every time I look on here the name comes up, and it is probably the closest place for me, only about a 2 hr drive I think. I have also seen on my travels along the Kings Highway a rest area called Warri Reserve and was wondering if anyone has been there?? Couldn't find anything on the area but it is a part of the Shoalhaven river south of O'allen.
..
Anyway, hopefully I will see a few people out there and get a bit of friendly advice. I will post a few pics of the high banker when I get a chance. Any advice on alterations needed would be greatly appreciated. Also, I am looking at getting a Honda volume pump. Not too sure whether to get the WX10 or 15. Any advice on which is better for running a high banker be appreciated.
..
Thanks
Jason.

G'day and welcome Jason. Your on the right forum to get advice on making your own tailor made high banker. I've looked at and read about dozens of different types and styles and now I'm in the process of making one. Every one has made theirs to way that suits them best and to the soil type they'll be working. At the moment I'm working granite country which is very sandy and with little amount of clay so I'll want a high banker with a high feed rate (process as fast as one can shovel), when I hit the clay again I can change the high banker around to suit. As I said there is plenty of advice on here, post some stories and pics to let us armchair prospectors how you are going. Good luck
:) Mick

Welcome to the forum Jason. Plenty of gold along the whole FSC starting pretty well from Oallen South to the Vic border. The Warri Bridge area on the Kings Hwy has some good flour gold but it's best to walk downstream a bit to get away from all the Grey Nomads.

Plenty of different layouts for High Bankers these days and all work well in their suited areas. Pumps are a personal choice and the Hondas are up there with the best. My advice is get the highest volume pump you can get. A two tierd High Banker with a grizzly can run adequately on a smaller pump such as the WX10 as the water speed is created by the top tier.

A single sluice banker will require a lot more water volume and a WX15 or similar will handle that well.

Just ask the guys on the forum if you need any advice. Best of luck out there and may the gold find its way into your pan.

Cheers Wal.

Thanks for the support and advice. Hopefully I will catch on pretty quick.
Jason.
