Today I went again to a park which gave me many predecimals already (40+ including aprox 15 silvers).
Apart of another 6 Austalian's predecs I scored my oldest coin so far - a french 5 centimes from 1863. This was quite a surprise for me, most of the other coins are after 1939, exceptions are one penny from 1919 and today's half penny from 1921.

Sweet day out by the sounds of things. Using the ctx? And what silvers did you find?

Looks a a good day. How do you go with other people in the parks around you. I am fairly new to this & find I feel a bit paranoid & if there is too many people I usually will leave the detector in the car. Am I just being silly or shouild I be careful ?

Thanks guys.

@Sa_bogan: it was still with my xterra 705. But as soon as I'll get delivered the ctx I will try the same park again, just curious if the ctx can still find some leftovers. I'll post the silver coins later.

@Mick: oh well, I actually left two other parks today without taking the detector out of my car because there was always one guy around... So much how I go with other people. I usually feel unconfortable detecting in front of others.
This park is a bit specific, the grass is not really manicured, not a good quality and it is a bit on a hill. I haven't seen anyone else so far in this park. However I always try my best when making any digging. I guess I'm quite successful, cause usually I can't find the holes myself afterwards.

So here is my little collection of silver coins, all from one park only. There is also one unusual find - 1/4 rupee (right upper corner).

Great hunting Pilsner! Good lot of silvers and the Napoleon III is fantastic.

Congrats.

Nice haul - the French coin is very interesting... I like all the silvers - much better condition and finding them on the beach!

Certainly shows that a bit of research and searching around for the right area to detect in can pay off. I don't usually have issues with people, as most of my detecting is done at night, plus I only use the screw driver method vs digging to leave areas as I found them. So long as you are seen doing the right thing, vs wondering manicured lawns with a wopping big shovel, there should be no issue.

Nice collection of silvers. I am yet to find a silver & the only gold for me so far has been 1 & 2 dollar coins. I also am using an x-terra 705. I am hoping to one day find something worth enough to pay for a ctx3030. Good luck out there. thanks.
