I just want to introduce myself. I have been hunting nuggets for 15 years or so. Started with a whites Vsat Goldmaster. Had some success. Today I run a M/L 4500 and work the California Motherlode regions. I have had some great success lately do to upgrading to a PI machine and the sites I work are very good. Hope to be a regular contributor to this great forum...

G'day mate and welcome. You can't go wrong with a minelab, there a great machine. Would love to see some pics of your finds and the stories behind them if that's possible. Thanks and good luck.
:) Mick

The first one next to the dime weighs in at 10 grams.I found this one on a site I work on a few times a year. It was cleaned by a friend with acid...looks pretty cool. The second was found below a tailing pile.

This one here is one of my favorites...wish I could have found more. But it weighs in at 14.3 grams. It has crystalline towers..and looks like a coral reef. The beauty is the gold and crystals popping around.

Welcome, and what a great specimen. :p The word 'awesome' comes to mind.

I am heading from LA to Reno in September, could you advise if the motherload region is in this locality ??? Are you be able to point me in the right direction for some website research.

Wally

Wally69, the California Motherlode region cuts thru many counties...you can find loads of information about it on line. If your interested in hunting, remember it's like Australia...you have lots of private property you can NOT search without permission. Than there is Federal lands...that are open, unless claimed by others. The best thing to do is join a club in the region your interested in usually 40-75 bucks per year and hunt their claims. Good Luck !

Great specimens you have here mate! Welcome aboard fellow prospector!
Great seeing some foreign gold!

Thanks for the nice welcome fellas....Ford Fairlane, lol you figured me out... ;) lol..Da ! The more gold the better!! And even better if I find it....I hunt very regular..so as most of you know..my odds are better. But this is Yankee gold...and you Australians have the Largest Nuggets around...one day I will take a trip and hunt some Aussie gold. Love the color of it...that buttery yellow...Man that's nice. Golddigg@, so we are drooling over Aussie gold, but I do have to admit..we have some nice stuff here..and I am greatfull to be right smack in the
middle of the Motherlode.. BigSam, I will post more of that foreign gold if you post a few from your area :) .Diggerdude and Average Joe..thanks again for the warm welcome !
