Hi all,
As a recently retired youngster, I needed a hobby to compliment my love of the bush, so I thought what better way to explore the back roads than to hunt for some colour while out camping and caravanning.
Knowing next to nothing about detecting, I started researching the subject (makes and models, areas, etc, etc.) and I came across this forum and decided to hook up, so howdy all.
I'm allready learning heaps of stuff here from all I read and I hope I can post some success stories of my own down the track.
I decided to "learn" with a Whites SPP pulse induction detector because of it's lightness and simple controls. On top of that the 5x10 Razorback coil lets me search really tight terrain (creeks, banks around vegetation etc.), like the places I go camping in, Flinders, outback SA. No luck yet, early days, but you never know what that next creek or gully is willing to give up!
I think I must be an optimist ;)
Regards, Adrian

Hi OzzieAu. We are getting more and more members from SA. Great. Are you far from the Vic. border? Good machine the Whites SPP Pi. Thay are all ok when matched with the right owner who has the patience and dedication to "learn" about the machine--and themselves!!
Hope you have fun in your retirement and believe me there is a heck of a lot of great reading and interaction to be done on this forum.
Tell us of your exploits and ask any question that needs an answer.
Jack :p

Hi Jaros,
Thanks for thoughts of support, much appreciated. I'm in Adelaide, so Vic. trip will have to wait till I have sufficient time for a decent caravan stay to explore this popular detectors playground. Slim pickings here in South Oz. Will be coming up Byron Bay in March though, any thoughts on that area?
Adrian
