The long weekend coming up I'm not sure if I am going to try my luck at either Fryerstown oit back of Castlemaine, or around Inglewood, Wedderburn area. Having grown up around Castlemaine I was always riding my dirtbike around "The Monks" which has now become a national park and been ravaged by many a prospecter. So it's now more so about finding places that are probable with a good chance for some results. If anyone is able to guide me with some location ideas where I could try I'd be more than thankful.
The main question I would like to ask of the more experienced detector users is; I have a GPX4500 and even though with the standard 11" Mono Coil I get quite good response. I also tend to run the 19" N/F Evo Coil most times when conditions permit me to do so. I am finding that for smaller pieces the 11" seems to pick up response signals more-so than the 19". Are there any specific settings that anyone has found using this combination that are good all round setting keeping depth and sensitivity to the sub gram targets ??? So far I have found either depth or shallow smaller target response but not both. Any previous info in regards to this would be greatly appreciated.
Regards Olly.
