Hi Everyone,

I'm in the process of selling my company and looking forward to hitting the road with my Wife around Australia in our new caravan...

I was doing a lot of detecting way back and I still have my old, wait for it, Garrett A2B detector but I definitely will have to upgrade before we leave.
I have been doing a great deal of reading on the new detectors on the market, and this is when I came across you wonderful forum. As I have been out of the game for quite a number of years, I look forward to any advice and information on detecting and also suggestions on which detector would be most suitable, especially for gold detecting.

I have been reading some of the entries from members and the information and stories make great reading! What a great way to get advice, straight from the people that share the same passion.

I will be keeping in touch on this forum as I travel around our great country, and I hope to contribute some interesting stories along the way.

I was hoping to ask if anyone out there can assist me with the best place to purchase a Minelab F1A4 detector as I want one of these for my wife, she has never detected before. I have read that they are great for beginners as they are very simple to use and not that expensive to buy.

Anyway, I look forward to many days of great reading and informative posts...

I'll be in touch soon... :)

Hi Texastea, great to hear about your upcoming trip. You've got it all here. Prospecting, camping, outdoor recreation, its all here.
Have a ball. What sort of caravan are you travelling in ? and towed by what sort of 4x4.
Jack :p

Welcome texastea, you may want to repost in the minelab section to get an opinion on where to purchase the f1a4, but you may also want to consider the Whites SPP for the missus, light, easy to use, and cost effective. :)

Hi,

Hi Jaros, you do have it all. I have been looking through the different topics covered on the forum and these will be make a great reference point on our travels! We opted for a European caravan, its an Adria. It has every thing one could ask for in creature comforts, shower, solar panels, double bed etc, and I looks pretty good too. It's not a full of road van but we mostly be using caravan parks. I just purchased a new Santa Fe Highlander AWD and I am quite happy with it. I did particularly like the torque that the this vehicle has, around 460NM which makes towing a breeze.

Thanks Goldpick for the advice on the Whites SPP, I'll check it out, as I said I'm grateful for any advice and suggestions. I'll check out the Minelab section regarding the F1A4.

Great hearing from you both :) so soon! Cheers for now....
