I'm new at prospecting, wanting to look for gold and enjoy the great outdoors. Going to Creswick this weekend any information about possible sites would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Welcome to PA sorry I cant help you with any information on Creswick but some one will know more than me and enjoy detecting it great past time :)

Hi there, :)
Your general starting point should be campground 3.
As for "sites".... follow the rules of thumb when searching for gold :D
On the corners of the bends in the creek is a good place to start, also pay attention to the size of the rocks in the creek!! Where larger rocks have settled is also a good place to check!! Creswick is known for clay bearing gold if that's any help.

Also, sample around the area you decide looks good and when you find some colour.......... DIG!!!!

Good Luck and Have fun its a great place!!!

P.S
I'm having a meet up with other members from here next Saturday if your interested.
We are meeting at campground 3, at 10am on the 10th September.
Feel free to drop by and have a chat :)
