G'day and welcome what sort of detector did you get? Be WARNED detecting is addictive

Hi Brooko welcome to PA. Where abouts in SA are ya? And what kind of detecting are you interested in? Coins or relics or gold? There are about 3 places you can go "fosicking" in SA, all of them around Adelaide. SA is a bit restrictive when it comes to fosicking. I live in the South of the state and travel to the Victorian goldfields. If you're more interested in gold that might be the go. In Vic you'll need a miners right. $17.20 online and it transfers ownership of any minerals inc. Gold from the crown to you, which means you can sell what you find. In SA anything you find remains the property of the crown and you can't legally sell it. But check out the threads in the different sections of the forum and ask any questions ya might think of. :)

Thanks for replies. Hubby got me a go find detector. It will take awhile to get use to it, but it's fun. Every time we go camping I'm always exploring, collecting, panning or fossicking, so I relate to the addiction. Have recently borrowed some tools but now have my own. Checked out Echunga today and found a handmade nail.
I live in Adelaide Hills.

Welcome Brooko,...I hope your learning curve is steep and easy. ;) :)
