Hi everyone, super newbie here. Working my way through the thickness of the Vic legislation for fossicking sake!. First time out today, my son (8) and I tested Fisher we got a few 5cent coins and cleared a small patch of the lakeside beach of rubbish (bottle tops, bottles, plastic etc) at least we know fisher working, not my first choice in detectors but cant complain since it was my birthday present. Looking forward to learning more, thanks everyone.

Welcome. Fishers are decent units :Y: Hunting coins and relics is a great way to learn your detector and target recovery. There's still some gold left to track down too..good luck.
