G'day all,
New to the site and the hobby. My name is AJ and I am from Cairns. My love for camping has started my interest in prospecting and look forward to the sites wealth of knowledge and advice. Planning to buy my first detector this week but cant decide between the AT Gold or the X-Terra 705 Dual Pack. Just looking for a good all rounder to start with. I hear the odd bit of the yellow stuff is found very close to Cairns but for now im sure I would be thrilled just to find something other than a nail.

Welcome aboard, good luck with your new venture. Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones that gets some finds early. Some are still waiting, and I know if I had to live of what I have found I would be dead by now !

However it is not all about the riches, they come in so many other ways. Enjoy

Good luck with it all mate. Do some serious research on detectors before you commit. If Gold is your hobby be careful on buying a VLF.
