Hi All, I'm from the Perth area and just looking to start searching for gold. I really have little clue about it but hope to learn and will let you all know when I dig up "The Big One".

P.S. actually got no idea to be more accurate, so any help will always be appreciated :)

Cheers
Gareth

Welcome to PA Gareth.
Most importantly, learn about the permits you need in WA before you go prospecting anywhere.
Lots of info on the forum for you to learn, and several WA members too.

Best of luck.

Cheers,
Megsy

Welcome Gareth,
You will find all the info you need here, take your time and take notes along the way.

One piece of info at this point in time, it is summer, so don't even think about setting off to the goldfields until April/May 2021.
Vast area out there and if you're not prepared physically and mentally you could die.
Majority of the goldfields has no internet/mobile coverage. Telstra is the best provider, but remember their advertised 95% coverage only applies to populated areas.
Happy reading.

Welcome Gareth, it's just as Marksman said...be prepared to do some reading. For sure the practice is important, but being armed with some good advice and tips from threads will sure help you hit the ground running so to speak.
I'm fairly new to detecting, but a big tip I learned is 'coil to the soil' and 'low and slow'. Have fun and enjoy the excuse to get outside in the great outdoors! ;) :Y:
