Hi all, I'm new to this hobby and would like to know if there is any good spots in North Brisbane?

Hi mate.
You might need to ask jaros. He lives in brissy and he is always helpful . Other than that you have warrick west of you or gympie north of you. Happy hunting :D

Hi Aurum, welcome. Brisbane was very active in the past with finds under the Indooripilly Bridge on the Brisbane river, Kingston had a mine as well as a few abandoned mines up on Mt Coottha. There's also Gympie to the north. Use Mr Google and investigate areas that are handy to you--ask your Miners Den people etc.
Studying the terrain is all part of the hobby and it "does" make the find even more enjoyable.
Warwick has an area just past it called Glendon, there is a camp there and another club , Queensland Prospecting Club, has it's own land in the area but you have to become a member-$50-00--i think to be able to use it.
Seek and ye shall find mate.
Good Luck
Jaros :p

G0lddigg, well I hope my path is paved with gold hahaha - cheers mate!

Jaros - cheers for your advice mate, I have been looking at the Petrie area and also Brisbane City itself. I'm unsure if I can detect on the foreshore in the city, haha if the tides go out. I was also looking at Bribie Island. Would you recommend any books? Big thank you for your advice mate.

Yobskin - Cheers for your advise, yeah I read about Warwick. I might have a day trip up there in the future, once I'm comfortable with my new detector
