thanks for the welcome, I'm from S.A but worked W.A for few yrs and N.T. the same , now got prawn boat in Townsville and keen to join club and start detecting here

Welcome to the forum walkabout, probably give the townsville detectorist club a look if I was you.
Theres a few places just west of you that are good detector patches, have a look through the posts on here that relate to fnq you should find plenty of info.
