Been lurking for ages and decided to introduce myself...
I am in Sydney until the 20th of December when I quit my job and go on the road.
Going to camp around Victoria until it gets cold then head to WA.
I am an industrial Electrician and the trade has been good to me over the years....
Now I find myself working in a factory that produces DVDs and the more I learn about geology the less
I find myself able to get passionate about a 500 run of Hogans Heros...
So...
December, armed with I think (Haven't purchased yet..) a TDI pro Oz, I will become either the oldest
backpacker in Australia or the youngest Grey Nomad..(Am 48yrs)
Thanks all you guys for the totally unselfish info you post here.
Have some, though very little, detecting experience with a mate, Mine lab gear.

Thanks Reeko..
Trying to think like the old timers had to.
That is learn the terain, geology, etc rather than just walk out into a paddock swinging blindly.
I really enjoy the researching and I have worked with plenty of metal detectors in the food industry so I understand how they work. (Though industry ones work in a different way to ground penetrating ones...)
Excited to put theory to practice.... :)
